The problem now for Gunns in raising money is that, if you believe the public comment, the buyer was scared off by the greens (i have my doubts but lets run with that).
Hence who would be left that would be prepared to take that on? Chandler seemed like the ideal candidate as he was "untouchable" in a sense.
Perhaps this is why the comments from Gunns are so strained...suggesting that they might walk away from the pulp mill if needs be and try to save the company.
Would suggest that comments about the pulp mill being dead for all time may actually be right now.....I guess we will see in a few days time. Possible that company announces failure of rights issue and that they will sell the pulp mill.
