    Hi (Montekaolino)

Where did you get,Production cost of $34 per tonne?
    Way out I would suggest.
That figure you give is less than just about every one in the Pilbara.
NSL have to transport by road a long way to the port.Transport in trucks a lot smaller than is used in Australia.
Eight hour day transporting 16,666 tonnes per month x 30 days = 555 tonnes per day = app 28 x 20 tonne trucks per day. That has to be carted over a distance,I believe from memory of over 400kls to port. Not on flat straight roads like in the Pilbara, but over roads winding through valley's and hills.

From memory it was worked out some time ago that it was a full day at least to travel to port and get back to the mine site again.
They said they were talking to people to put the iron ore on trains going back something like 18 months ago.No more news on the train option.

No way known it will be $34 per tonne in cost's to get to port or domestic market off load point.

    Regards
    Westcott.
