the rules to buy back is such that the company do not manipulate share price. All the companies that I have owned and that have bought back shares has had little effect on the price during and in the short term.
The main idea I think is to consolidate.
Less shares and share holders, means when economy picks up,
there would be less shares holders to pay dividend too = more?
and less shares on market for buyers to chase = faster and firmer rise
If a company has surplus cash, what can they do with it?
They could distribute to us, but that would weaken company.
I believe a solid, compact, progressive MCR will have a stronger future.
