So many of our top 50 have been dismal performers, not only over the last two or three years, but over the last decade.
Amcor, Brambles, Lend Lease, Telstra and Macquarie come to mind. Even highly regarded large coys like Perpetual, Sonic Healthcare, and QBE have disappointed.
If you've got the time and the passion, small caps and speccies are the way to go in my view.
