Maybe a different perspective.
Do Gods create Gods?
The first commandment; "Thou shalt not have any other Gods before me"!
Why would God give such a superfluous commandment unless other Gods did exist, and he felt insecure? He didn't say "make-believe" Gods, or "dead Gods".
I take the meaning to be literal as with other the commandments, & not have to be "reinterpreted".
Any comments?
