I firmly believe there is no heaven, there is no hell, there is just a very deep sleep in which you do not dream, and never wake. Believers are the lost sheeple, bleating pathetically for something more.
So one is neither gone or not gone, one still exists but, maybe not consciously. Most atheistic types would say when your are dead your are dead, you cease to exist. I think that position is logical even if I disagree with them. But to still "be", which is the consequence of your position, one sleeps, is strange, at least to me.
