IMHO Wildthing where we are now is just best guess territory.

I think we need to start talking to the Muslim Community in an attempt to find out what the hell they really think about extremism and what they think should be done. Then we work together with the moderate Muslims, finding and implementing joint community strategies to move forward. Perhaps they need our help to isolate and render as harmless as possible the extremists in their, and thus our, midst.

As YAK said on another thread - internment is one option, as is expulsion. I'm in favour of both.

Until we start talking to the Muslim community we won't know the percentage of moderates V's others. We won't really know what joint strategies we need to put in place to move forward - the dissemblers will be easy to spot as dialogue continues...

...and we need to do this fast, firmly and fairly. Absolutely no PC and no Press - we want the truth as diverse and warty as that may be.

Maybe make the consultation state based and publish the consultation results as an agreed strategy paper, and make sure people adhere to the agreement. Community consultation is not a new concept after all.

    Just my thoughts
