the bottom line is this, as per ASX trading rules, $500 is a minimum marketable parcel, unless you are adding to your position, and even then it would be dumb to add small lots if you have to whack up $20 extra brokerage for each trade (like the scum sucking bots DONT have to) That's where it's unfair, many a time i want to sell or buy say 10-15k of stock in say BTA Biota which has low liquidity annd absolutely controlled by bots for more than a year, and an order that size would trigger the bots into immediate action, whereas if i could just dribble $500 worth a time thru till my order was filled for the one brokerage i could live with that, but no...i have to stump up for each trade, so the alternative is to either wait forever till theres a large enough buyer or seller exposing himself on screen (which they dont do) or put my whole order up, and get creamed by the bots. Typically they'll hit you for $50 worth to get you involved knowing you've paid brokerage and are committed, then run the price UP if you're buying, and smack it down if you're selling. Try it out...you'll soon get my drift....any stock basically unless it's churning zillions on the day.
