I am glad you mentioned Westfield, kingpins.

I have been reading some disturbing reports of late, mostly coming from Myer CEO and some other smaller retail businesses.

What they are saying is that with the state of the economy at present, combined with the inflexible awards system, they will not be opening their stores at certain times, particularly Public Holidays.

I have previously posted that my local Donut King never opens on PH any more. They used to. the owner tells me that it's not viable to pay the penalty rates to their young employees.

    So, some may say..."who cares!!"

    Well, who misses out here?

I'll tell you who misses out.

The young students trying to get some money and some work experience. The single parents who are trying to subside their incomes to support their children. The Myer staff who are battling to get more than 20 hours per week. Shall I go on?

All as a result of the bloody mindedness of Unions and the short sighted approach of this fiasco, called the Federal Labor "government".

Oh, and I forgot the Reserve Bank board, who appear not to be actually residing in Australia, because if they did, they would really know what is going on.
