sure fresh & raw foods don't contain the same amount of nutrients they did 10-20 years ago if you buy them from the supermarket shelves but people should be encouraged to buy these from markets & preferably organic or even better grow as much as you can yourselves at home. Far greater chemicals in todays produce & rapidly pumped full of extras to speed up production.

As for the benefits of a whole food diet it's well worth researching the hunter gatherer statistics & you'll find there daily intake of essential vitamins & nutrients far exceeded that which is now recommended (and largely not met) by health authorities.

While the thread topics theory may be correct & the book may indeed be of value i'm just really not a fan of those trying to "sell" their book so hard as it appears in his advertisement.

Anyway one last one Professor Jennelik in Australia wrote a book Overcoming Multiple Sclerosis which very much follows on from Swanks earlier book although it's updated on more recent scientific knowledge with the adjustments included, while the book is great reading anyone can still acess the website with much of the information available regarding diet & many great recipes in both the websites main frame & in the forum, of course no cost to be member either. While it is focussed on MS there are many aspects suitable to those with heart issues aswell in following the OMS diet.

    Overcoming Multiple Sclerosis website

    Good luck
