Op, what I meant by 'relatively inert' is that CO2 is benign compared to say, carbon monoxide, or chlorine gas. Car exhausts emit carbon monoxide, - in much less quantity now than they used to. But that CO is deadly whereas the tiny amount of CO2 emitted is not.
I know that CO2 is not totally inert like helium of argon gas, but it is definitely much less of a hazard than carbon monoxide.
Without getting in to a point by point argument, it is only in relatively recent times that carbon dioxide has become a 'bogey'. Previously it was considered part of the fabric of life and carbon monoxide was, - and still is, the bad guy.
As a matter of interest, do you think that it is CO2 itself that is the AGW problem, or the world blanket effect that I mentioned?
