heaven help the Syrian civilian population if they do, and obviously the US will be involved. The US itself conceded that airstrikes against Syria would be suicidal without US help by way of supplying electronic countermeasures to suppress the Syrian air defences. They are equipped with the latest Russian missile batteries, which are installed near the heaviest populations, the reason for that being, to PROTECT the said dense populated areas. A recent US article condemned the idea of airstrikes on the grounds that the areas of Syrian air defences would have to be "carpet-bombed" to wipe them out, resulting in enormous civilian loss of life. Syria is not Iraq or Libya.....they have the real deal as far as defences go.
I thus hope the guy who wrote the article was just waffling, 'cause if they do attack, it'll be a bloodbath. Many times worse than Libya, where the casualties due to Nato bombing were suppressed.
