re: party time....yellowcake Bit of a scop there Kalms, so well done. And by the way, congrats on the birth of the young one. The best is yet to come. (I have three boys)
Looks like Laramide will be in contention with Peter Beattie and the Queensland Govt as well as Claire Martin and the NT Govt. but's that's years away when the Environmental Impact Statements and Applications to Mine are made. By then the Federal ALP policy on NNM's could well be modified. If not, let's hope that ALP does not win Fed power. Both Qld and NT govts have been mandated overwhelmingly at the ballot box. I don't think Caesar will be intervening as by then he won't be in office and his govt won't be too keen on sales of yellowcake (not the Hotcopper poster) to China, etc..
Interesting that Westmoreland is subject to the Native Title Act- a Federal Act. So the Fed Govt as well as the ALP Qld Govt will each have a say when Laramide wish to extend their activities to mining. Of course, Laramide will first have Noel Pearson now to contend with, but this may be an asset given his committment to projects that generate long term employment. (A point not lost on CMR who are courting the NLC with employment plums given some of their leases seem to be on the East Finniss River Land Trust)
The Harts Range venture will be interesting should it prove to be near one of the sites chosen by the Feds for their Nuclear Waste Dump. Bullion Resources are also proposing to explore in this area. A nuclear dump next to a uranium mine! A sign of things to come? I don't think so and it sounds like Harts Range will be wiped from the Fed proposal. These dumps will also face the anger of a united ALP NT Govt and a CLP Opposition. so the jury is out on this example of bullying by the Feds.
ARU do seem to have an advantage in that Lagoon Creek seems to be on alienated land(I will check this) and so is not subject to the Aboriginal Land Rights Act(NT)- also a Fed act-, or the Native Title Act. It is also not a national Park or heritage area although it will need sacred site clearance under NT legislation. It is also not a previously radioactive contaminated site.

By the way, I'm not sure what is the value of these posts as political realities need to be taken into account but are subject to change( although the fed ALP policy has locked in all the states and teritories for over 20 years). Yet, I am continually suprised to find that Directors of companies and stockbrokers do not always disclose these issues to shareholders and clients. (I note a recent U report by State One did so very frankly).
