I will return the compliment and say that I agree with you too.
A correction though: I didn't buy "BB". I bought 50 years ago when buying was difficult and while considered "normal" it was not easy nor was it touted as "profitable", just somewhere to live. I worked my bum off running a service station for a couple of years in the days when we personally filled the cars, checked under the bonnet, cleaned the windscreen and pumped the tyres.
This got me the 20% deposit. Right thing to do at the time and I agree that today is prolly NOT the right time to try and repeat the exercise. Patience is required.
