Warnie, high protein diets make the stomach feel full, and thus satisfied. On such a long term diet, you would want to be blood O for such a diet to be reasonably suitable. LOng term there is a warning for this type of diet in regards your organs.
I am in my 60s, have no aches or pains, good energy level, blood pressure of an 18yo, and feel alive and great. I work on the basis of preventative medicine, not trying to fix problems, but rather stop them from occurring. I can eat as much as I like, my main problem is keeping up the desired weight.
My simple suggestions are:
Dont look at a diet as what you cannot eat (deprive ones self). Diet is not a fad, but a lifestyle. A way of eating for the rest of your life, that will make you healthy and feel great. So you must love your diet and look at it from a long term beneficial way of life, to feel better than 80%+ of people.
Portion size is critical if you want to loose weight. One firstly must be eating what is necessary to fuel the body only....no over filling. The stomach will shrink to the new content level fairly soon, and will then be content with a new "lower filled" level. Overweight people generally eat the wrong foods and too much. Just sit at the check out of your local supermarket and observe what is in the trolleys of overweight or obese, and you will quickly realise why they and their children are what they are.
Avoid sugars (except wine, lol) and refined carbs as much as possible. I work on the basis that if this is implemented then I can occasionally have something I would not normally eat because I have that right.
Those two things applied will give a long term weight reduction without stressing. Forget the scales, check maybe once a month. The object is not punishment to loose weight, but a lifestyle way of eating, that has a side benefit of weight falling off without trying. Dont focus on the weight, focus on your new eating lifestyle benefits (positive focus rather than a negative focus).
Green leafy veg a critical component, as with variety of veg and fruit.
NEVER eat fruit except on an empty stomach, otherwise you will have an unhealthy digestive system. Basically if you know you have a stomach (feel something going on in there), burp, fart, smelly farts etc, then the rest of your system will also suffer. Many suffer from candida (eg the beer belly) thrush, etc which are all digestive problems from bad eating and sugars.
Grow your own veg for better quality and mineral input also critical for disease prevention...not chemist crap, but mimnerals naturally in a form the diet can process correctly, not flush down the toilet in your urine.
Excess meat will result in Animes being dumped into the joints leading to arthritis and rhumatoid problems.
So forget about fad diets fullstop. Develop a new way of LIFE eating. Dont deprive, reward your system, and have it ticking over like a harley or fine tuned V8.
KISS method always the best. It is time one should take an active interest in wanting to have the correct vehicle to carry us around in.
PS. never use saxa salt. Salt has 84 trace minerals. The saxa people have removed 83 trace minerals, and added iodine to their byproduct. It hardens arteries etc. Try celtic salt, contains all the 84 trace minerals. If you have high or low blood pressure, it will bring you towards equillibrium. I rarely eat potatoes, dont eat butter or marg and do not miss them. As we get older, our digestive juices weaken, leading to poor absorption of nutrients. Celtic salt instead of drying yopur mouth out, will make your mouth explode with salive...in other words gastric juices. And it tastes so much better. Add it at the end of cooking so you do not destroy the minerals. Raw veg, salads etc excellent also in not destroying food content.
My new partner lost 10 kg without trying following the way I eat, and she was still having some butters, and regular alcohol. She looks better than ever, with a reward for me being her increased energy levels as well as a trim bod, and more self esteem.
Have a wonderful day all.
