Just to be the cynic. I think the idea is to enhance volatility...but in reality the insto can use it to move the market. We all place bids at the end of the queue in the hope to pressure that side...some time ago they (ASX) allowed brokers to cross trades which matched within their own operations’ without going onto the 'real' market. This meant they could 'get' rid of you if they wish by XT you, or if they felt the market was moving in that direction queue jump by taking you out.

As the system got away with that, they introduced centre point (CP) trades which mean retailers have NO hope of pressuring the system. Because now you can be XTed from either side from within. AND THAT’S BECAUSE BROKERS ARE ALLOWED TO TRADE (which is wrong…because they have access to your stop loss etc…(get real of course they do..…what’s to stop them).

Yesterday I was 35th in the queue and got centre pointed....can't believe it. Was I the only NAB buyer. Would be interesting to hear if any one has been CPed and the market then move in their favour.

It's another SHONKY that allows more manipulation of the system. The mums and dads are going to realise in the near future that the $ to be made from ‘investing’ in shares is GONE.
