Down the garden path is not where I'm going - don't care whether the Pied Piper is red, blue, or green. Thinking for oneself - and staying in control of oneself - at least making the effort to see things objectively, however imperfectly, - are very excellent virtues - if one can maintain them against the barrage of bovine excrement dished up to us daily by so-called "experts" and puffed up preening commentators and sycophants.

Hypocrites are very thick on the ground. So is self-absorbed self-interest. Not just in politics. Occasionally, there are those notables who can rise above all this and try for the truths.

Amazingly, they seem to appear out of nowhere - just when they're most needed! Campbell Newman is one, politically - perhaps.

But the most dazzling, sincere, happiest and warmest smile can be given as a gift to us from the poorest, most downtrodden peasant who has absolutely zilch, in some impoverished village in some dust covered, barren, third world country.

Then, if one has any heart, one can feel truly blessed and humbled.
