And oh yes, current indications for Australian interest rates are that they will need to come down.
This is both good and bad for QBE. Bad because it means the yields it earns on its AUD float is lower. Good because it means that the AUD relative to other currencies depreciates and its overseas earnings when restated in AUD are higher. Its financials are a bit of a mess because they are quoted in USD but the share price is in AUD so really we need to look at earnings in AUD too to compare apples with apples.
