Yes, interesting as Indian jewellery trends have in the past been seen as important to the gold price.
It seems the current bullish factors are overiding the negatives such as this. For example the pending fall in world gold production from gold mines will I believe completely outweigh the fall in Indian consumption due to the higher gold prices.
Good post though, the gold market is complex and it is always interesting to hear of the influences in play.
