About six months ago I was put in contact with someone from a local environment group in Tassie. She was , from memerory, a sister of a colleague. She was happy to email me about Tassal and said that her group had no probblems about what they were doing and in fact supported them, given the relief their activities gave to dwindelling ocean fish stocks.

She also said that 'the local greens member of parliament' (I've forgotten his name) had given public support to Tassal. I have the emails somewhere, but for me there is no need to keep tab of my sources and I don't have the time to dig them up right now. I just got the impression that there were no problems in Tassie for TGR from the greenies.

It is entirely possible that the situation is changed, and when I get a chance I'll follow it up, but I won't do it urgently on an extremely vague assertion with no details forthcoming. Maybe someone felt that the greenies SHOULD be against Tassal's operation? I don't know.

Disclosure: Tassal is my largest single holding.
