jonnee, with all due respect I think you have missed the point.
GCN did a deal with First Mongolian to help establish an IPTV/WIFI media partnership in Mongolia.
First Mongolian is actually an investment company that has many interests in a variety of ventures including media and mining in Mongolia.
In doing the deal with regards to the WI Fi partnership, Richard Li was able to negotiate a further deal and that was to secure 10% of the issued capital of this new float and in turn pass that on to GCN shareholders who qualify by having 250,000 shares. In other words, I will help you with establishing the Wi Fi situation and in turn I will take some shares in this new float.
What could be easier then that.
GCN is still an IT company. They will still continue on the same path. Nothing has changed.
This was simply an opportunity that Richard believed was a chance to increase shareholder wealth for his shareholders in GCN. I for one am very happy to recieve something for nothing.
Once First Mongolian is listed they will be their own seperate entity. Nothing at all to do with GCN.
GCN will not have any involvement in the running of this mining company.
Gcn shareholders will not be effected one way or the other,
accept of course, that they will now have shares in a mining company that were given to them for nothing. One free share for every nine shares held in GCN. Provided that they qualify with a holding of 250000 shares.
In the meantime Gcn is continuing to run it's business as usual.
So answering your question, why don't they focus on what they are good at? That's exactly what they are doing and will continue to do so.
