Sideways I remember a few years ago I had shares in a company called Cardia.
Because of my holding I got shares in a new company called A- Cap Resources for 1c per share because of my holding in Cardia.
A'Cap floated at 20c in May 2006.
One month later the stock sat there unloved at 22c.
One year later on the 30th April the stock closed at $1.96.
No one was interested in the float because people knew that cardia shareholders had been given their shares for 1c each. They thought that the market would be swamped with cardia shareholders dumpin their stock for a quick 20 bagger profit.
For those who bought on the float at 20c and took the punt they were richly rewarded had they held one year later.
Basically the market got it VERY wrong.
I can give you many examples where the market has not been responsive but that has not meant that the company went on to have major success.
If you are basing your opinion on how the rest of the market is reacting you might want to rethink.
I do not know how successful this mongolian float will be.
No one knows the answer to that question. Ask me in 12 months time and I will give you a definate answer.
But I have been around long enough to know that the market quite often gets it wrong.
