seden33 - again, the abstract suggests oceans started warming around the turn of last century (quoted in my previous post).
If you go to the abstract for which I provided the link earlier, you will also find some supplementary data (Challenger and Argo) that you can download freely, and some charts.
In short, the researchers found that it's warming most at the surface as expected, and the average warming of the top layer (0 to 700m) over 135 years is about twice that of the past 50 years - but they say the Challenger data is considered the lower bound.

If you still have more questions, eg about how quickly it warmed at different time periods, I suggest you contact the authors or purchase the paper itself (or go to your library and read a copy of it there). I don't have access to the full paper. However it looks as if they used Challenger data and Argo data and I don't know if they used any data for the years in between.
