It seems like ages ago and almost another lifetime away but I have had the priviledge of meeting Mr Doohan first hand. I used to look after actors when they arrived in Australia on behalf of the promoters they were working for and show them a good time while in our country. Jimmy Doohan was a classic! At one time he worked out a deal with JimBeam and fronted a few commercials in the USA and parts or Europe. It must have been part of the deal that Jimmy received a lifetime supply because he always had some in reach, packed in it's own special "Beam me up Scotty" gift boxes. One of which was signed to me and I proudly keep as a momento of the time we spent. The JimBeam is long gone! Maybe some trekky on eBay will pay me a fortune for it now he's dead...
