If you let the NBN go right past your property, you'll have to rely on wireless later on. The copper network that delivers your ADSL2 will be dismantled. And if you then want to have the fibre optic network connection, you'll have to pay for the installation. So if you are smart, let the NBN connect your property to the fibre network for free when it rolling out.
