akgo01 " The NBN's FTTH is the super highway with almost infinite number of lanes where millions of Ferraris, Commodores, school buses, ambulances, trucks, semi-trailers, etc (and even you on your bicycle) can go through at their own maximum speed all at once with no traffic congestion. "
Great analogy.
Do most Australians need (as opposed to want) and are prepared to pay for the real cost of a "super highway" to their door or would a "super highway" to a node(s) in the street or area be sufficient ? That is how our road system operates - we don't have or need a four lane freeway to every homeowners garage!
I'm not against the principal of FO, purely the cost associated with the "need verses want" approach.
