The NBN's FTTH is the super highway with almost infinite number of lanes where millions of Ferraris, Commodores, school buses, ambulances, trucks, semi-trailers, etc (and even you on your bicycle) can go through at their own maximum speed all at once with no traffic congestion.

    Great analogy.

Do most Australians need (as opposed to want) and are prepared to pay for the real cost of a "super highway" to their door or would a "super highway" to a node(s) in the street or area be sufficient ?
That is how our road system operates - we don't have or need a four lane freeway to every homeowners garage!

I'm not against the principal of FO, purely the cost associated with the "need verses want" approach.
