TCI - I did not say the US crash occurred because of 'smoke and mirrors' tricks like trying to keep prices up by subterfuge through giveaways, I said this kind of stuff is a symptom of the beginning of the end.
By the way, the crash that will occur in Australia IMO will be on a much larger scale than the US because (1) our economy is more beholden to the housing sector than is the US and because (2) our housing debt levels are much much worse than the housing debt levels in the US pre-crash. (Two facts that I will only be too happy to back up if you are still hanging on to the belief that we are magically different here).
