Big sellers of late are most likely from the recent capital raise, who have become spooked about gold price looking forward (sure some of selling also from small private guys as well with stop/loss orders).
IMHO , the price has been driven lower from a bit of manipultion by those big brokers acting as holding companies for potential suitors (e.g., Citicorp) - hence no market announcement regarding any changes to significant share holders. This is not normal trading for amx , especially the volumes.
Do some research on Andean, Fronteer and a few others that have been recently taken over. Check how low they went just prior to takeover talks, check how high they went after the ball got rolling.
Be patient, stay focussed - Rewards will come imo
