itguy... could you explain this a bit more. I'm not sure I understand. You placed a buy order at some price (not on market) and as soon as you did so, a sell order was placed (i'm assuming on market so that it hits your buy order) for a smaller number of shares than your buy order?
I'm not sure why anyone would do this - therefore, I'm probably misunderstanding your original post.
