I don't think there is much meat in the Mt M 'tenement parking' argument.

You don't need a NP or sterile issue to engage in protracted land access 'discussions' with native title owners if you just want to warehouse a tenement.

I suspect the current Mt M uncertainty is a result of MNM being 100% focussed on Victortian brown coal these days.

The Mt Mulligan purchase dates back to 2007, more than a year before IK arrived at MNM.

The reality is that a company of MNM's size and manpower constraints has more than enough on it's plate optimising its 5 or 6 billion tonnes of Victorian brown coal.

Mt Mulligan will no doubt be resolved in time, but I don't think it is their top priority, nor should it be given the overwhelming returns on offer for a BM or LV deal with exergen.

If a JV with exergen proceeds after the BM JORC as contemplated by the pre-JVA agreement then a Mt M sale or farm out looks likely to me once the 'proposed NP' and 'Sterile' order are lifted by request of the trad owners, the Djungan.

It is impossible to imagine that the Qld Newman Govt would try to deny the Djungan's power to control a sensitive development of Mt Mulligan.

Given the Djungan are both the legal owners of the site AND the native title owners I am unsure how the State Govt could stop them developing it even if they wanted to.

The future of Mt M is in the hands of the trad owners, not the pen pushers at the Qld Mines Dept who used to dance to Captain Anna Blighs cynical tunes, but now serve a new Master who is a lot more pro-mining.
