Turaco Gold (TCG) has received “excellent” results from drilling at its Satama gold discovery within the Eburnea project in central Cote d’Ivoire.

The company recently completed a 12-hole reverse circulation program to identify higher-grade plunging shoots and down-dip extensions to previous drilling.

Drilling reportedly achieved both of these aims, with a high-grade plunging shoot defined at the northern area of the drill grid, remaining open.

One of the holes returned an intersection of 26 metres at 4.82 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 35 metres, which the company said is the best intersection drilled to date at Satama.

Other drill holes returned assays including 14 metres at 2.59 g/t gold from 57 metres and 21 metres at 1.33 g/t gold from 65 metres.

The company also recently completed a 2050-metre auger program which tested parallel structures to the west of the drill grid, where an induced polarisation survey highlighted extensive anomalies over four kilometres of strike.

Results from this program are pending and, if positive, could offer growth potential for the Satama discovery.

Turaco Gold is now progressing auger and soil geochemistry sampling programs at the Odienne project in northwest Cote d’Ivoire.

Company shares were up 17.2 per cent to trade at 6.8 cents at 3:30 pm AEDT.
