Charger Metals (CHR) has resumed drilling at the Medcalf spodumene prospect within its Lake Johnson lithium project in Western Australia.

The company’s reverse circulation drilling program first began in December and has now resumed following a break for the festive season.

Prior to the break, 17-drill holes were completed, with 15 returning numerous stacked spodumene-pegmatites across three sections.

The company said individual units were recorded up to five metres in width, with thicker pegmatites recorded on the north-westernmost drill section, indicating a possible north-westerly plunge to the mineralisation.

Charger’s Managing Director David Crook said the numerous spodumene-bearing pegmatites intersected within a 50 metre-wide structural zone provided an “encouraging start” to the maiden program, prior to the break.

“The first 17 holes have provided critical information about the orientation of mineralisation, and drilling has now resumed to test the 800 metre by 300 metre swarm of pegmatites both along strike and at depth.”

Charger told investors the current laboratory turnaround is approximately seven weeks following the submission of samples.

Charger Metals shares were down 1.16 per cent, trading at 42.5 cents at 12:40 pm AEDT.
