HeraMED (HMD) has appointed former Nanosonics (NAN) Senior Vice President, North America Keith Koby as its President, North America.

Having guided one of Australia’s most successful medical technology companies, Mr Koby brings to HeraMED more than 30 years of leadership, excellence and required experience within the medical technology and devices market.

He led Nanosonics to achieve record sales across capital, equipment and services, which saw “spectacular growth” from US$5 million (A$7.1 million) to US$107 million (A$152 million). NAN’s profit also increased from a loss of US$3 million to a profit of US$85 million, with its headcount growing from two to 103 people.

Nanosonic transformed the ultrasound probe disinfection market and saw its technology become the standard of care across North America.

HeraMED hopes that through Mr Koby’s guidance, it too can rapidly expand its presence in the North American market.

“I first met Keith when I recruited him to Nanosonics in April 2012, and I am very confident that he has the right mix of skills and experience to establish HeraCARE as a new standard for remote monitoring of maternity care,” HeraMED Chairman Ron Weinberger said.

HeraMED said Mr Koby will not only help grow the company’s presence but also help optimise its go-to-market strategy and establish the sales and distribution model for HeraCARE in North America.

HMD shares ended the day down 6.67 per cent, trading at 14 cents.
