Marmota (MEU) has launched a 2023 drilling program at its Aurora Tank gold discovery in South Australia.
The company’s geology team and drill crews mobilised to the field on January 17, and the first drills began spinning soon thereafter.
“Marmota is delighted to get our 2023 drilling year off to such a rapid start, particularly as we see significant continuing improvement to our underlying gold and uranium fundamentals and rare earths market interest,” Marmota Chairman Colin Rose said.
“On the gold side, we have already discovered five zones at Aurora Tank with outstanding intersections featuring grades of roughly 100 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over one metre, close to surface.
“We are seeking to complete the follow-up of open high-grade gold extensions as fast as possible.”
The new results gave rise to immediate high-priority drilling targets that will now be followed up.
The program is expected to continue throughout January and the majority of February.
