Winsome Resources (ASX:WR1) posts "strong" lithium grades from Adina, Canada

  • Winsome Resources’ (WR1) latest drilling results confirm its Adina project in Canada hosts high grade lithium
  • Drilling completed between October and November returned just under 1.3 per cent lithium oxide over 93.5 metres, as well as 1.5 per cent lithium oxide over 23.9 metres
  • The company also interpreted a potential strike extension to 1600 metres, with following up drilling now scheduled to verify this
  • Further assay results are pending and WR1 says it looks forward to delineating high grade zones of lithium and building up the geological interpretation of the project ahead of resource estimation work

Winsome Resources (WR1) latest drilling results have confirmed its Adina project in Canada hosts high grade lithium.

The latest batch of assay results from drilling completed at the Adina Main Zone between October and November last year returned 1.28 per cent lithium oxide over 93.5 metres from three metres downhole, as well as 1.52 per cent lithium oxide over 23.9 metres from 4.6 metres.

The results come from six drill holes completed at the western margin of the Adina main zone as part of a wider 32-hole program.

Winsome said the drilling so far has defined a substantial, continuous pegmatite body over a 600 metre strike length to a depth of 200 metres.

From the most recent results, the company has interpreted a potential strike extension of the pegmatite body to 1600 metres. Follow up drilling scheduled for the coming months will seek to verify this interpretation.

Winsome’s Managing Director Chris Evans said the latest results were “just as impressive” as initial assays, and confirm the high-grade nature of the mineralisation at the Main Zone.

With further assay results pending, Mr Evans says the fresh results provide encouragement for the intersections being logged, sampled, assayed and interpreted.

“The progress since we made the Jamar Discovery in September is remarkable and we continue to rapidly progress an intensive drill programme at Adina with the recent backing of the capital markets.

“We look forward to further results delineating the high grade zones of lithium mineralisation at Adina as well as building up the geological interpretation with the aim of starting resource estimation work later in the year,” Mr Evans said.

WR1 shares last traded at $2.00 at 3:05 pm AEDT.
