Forrestania Resources (FRS) has appointed ex-Firefinch (FFX) boss, Dr Michael Anderson, as its new Managing Director and CEO.

Dr Anderson is a PhD qualified geologist with extensive management and technical experience in both Australia and Africa over a 30-year career in the resource industry.

Dr Anderson previously held the role of Managing Director of Firefinch, until his resignation at the end of June 2022 by mutual agreement.

FRS noted that during Dr Anderson’s tenure at FFX the company went from a market capitalisation of $200 million to over $1.2 billion.

In joining Forrestania, the company believes Dr Anderson brings a wealth of technical, corporate and market experience.

Chairman John Hannaford said the incoming CEO’s “extensive experience and execution capability” would be a “fantastic asset” to the company going forward.

“We are privileged that he has agreed to join the company at this pivotal time in our short history as a listed entity, which is testament to the quality and potential of the company’s project portfolio,” Mr Hannaford said.

In the top job at FRS, Dr Hannaford will receive remuneration of $300,000 plus statutory superannuation contributions capped at $24,746 per year.

FRS shares last traded at 13 cents on February 17, while FFX shares remain in a trading halt at 20 cents.
