Elixir Energy (EXR) has produced 200,000 standard cubic feet per day of gas at the pilot project within its Nomgon IX production sharing contract in Mongolia.

The company said the “milestone” flow rate was achieved through the combined production from the Nomgon-8 and 9 wells, following 100 days of operations.

The bulk of the production came from Nomgon-9, which made up 150,000 standard cubic feet per day of the total.

Elixir’s Managing Director Neil Young said the project continued to “deliver the goods” with what he said was an “excellent” flow rate from the “simple and shallow” vertical wells.

Water production remained at 150 barrels per day, which EXR said was “stable” and “low”.

The pilot project is set to continue, and the company said approvals processes are progressing such that it expects to kick off its drilling program for 2023 next month as planned.

EXR shares last traded at 13 cents at 1:30 pm AEDT.
