Lithium Energy (LEL) has confirmed “excellent” average lithium concentrations from its maiden drill hole at the Solaroz lithium brine project in Argentina.
LEL used geophysical hole logging data and diamond drill assays to confirm the lithium concentration across large intersection widths in both the upper and lower aquifers.
The company reported up to 235 metres of lithium brine mineralisation, striking up to 446 milligrams per litre (mg/l) from 55 metres deep in the upper aquifer and 501 mg/l from 265 metres deep in the lower aquifer.
LEL said the positive total porosity and specific yield measurements, together with a low magnesium-to-lithium ratio across both aquifers, presented “favourable” lithium extraction conditions.
Further drilling in the second and third diamond drill holes is now complete, pending geophysical hole logging and assay results.
Drill holes four and five of the 10-hole program are due to commence shortly across 12,000 hectares at the Solaroz Lithium Project.
LEL states the area has high lithium mineral concessions and sits strategically within the Salar de Olaroz Basin in South America’s “Lithium Triangle” in northwest Argentina.
LEL shares were trading grey at 71 cents at 3:40 pm AEDT.
