Macro Metals (M4M) has found “high-grade” rock chip samples of up to 33 per cent copper during an initial site trip to its recently-acquired Mogul VMS project in Western Australia.

Four rock chip samples were taken during the visit to the project, located 60 kilometres east of Nullagine in WA.

The company said the samples were consistent with the samples of up to 36 per cent copper and 11 per cent zinc reported by previous operators.

Macro Metals also said the high-grade samples confirmed the prospectivity of the Mogul and CEC gossan clusters.

As a result, the company has now called on an external geophysical contractor to carry out gravity and IP surveys in a bid to locate extensions to the confirmed mineralisation.

The sample, MM001, also identified 948 grams per tonne (g/t) of silver.

Other results from the samples included up to 3.85 per cent zinc and up to 9.25 per cent lead.

Shares in M4M were last trading at 0.5 cents at 11:51 am AEST.
