Anson Resources (ASN) has commenced site works at its Paradox lithium project in Utah ahead of a planned mineral resource expansion drilling program.

The company said as part of the site works, it would re-instate drill pads to kick off its Western Strategy drilling program at the Mineral Canyon Fed 1-3 and Sunburst 1 wells in the area.

ASN will also commence a drill program at its Green River lithium project 50 kilometres northwest of Paradox.

ASN said its Western Strategy drilling work would test thick Mississippian units as well as Pennsylvanian clastic horizons, with assay results and flow testing of the brines around the wells to be included in an upgraded Paradox mineral resource estimate (MRE).

The current Paradox MRE sits at 1.04 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) and 5.27 million tonnes of bromine, and ASN hopes to expand this vertically and horizontally through its Western Strategy drilling.

The Sunburst well lies immediately adjacent to road infrastructure, and the Mineral Canyon well also has easy access, located adjacent to a graded county road.

Anson and US Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management (BLM) personnel visited the well sites and approved the re-establishment of drill pads to commence further testing.

ASN shares were up 1.43 per cent and trading at 17.8 cents at 2:25 pm AEST.
