Toro Energy (TOE) has struck high grade nickel sulphide mineralisation at its Dimma nickel discovery in Western Australia.
The Dimma nickel discovery is one of four large-scale nickel-sulphide anomalies at the company’s Dusty project, located in the Yandal Greenstone Belt.
The company’s diamond drilling intersected two metres of continuous massive nickel sulphide mineralisation from 147.2 metres downhole.
Toro has completed five diamond drill holes at Dimma to date, noting visible intersections of 14.8 metres of nickel-sulphide from 232.9 metres.
In the same hole, TOE sampled 3.6 metres of potential nickel grades between 1.45 and 3.66 per cent from 244.1 metres.
The company conducted hand-held spot analyses of core samples, which indicated nickel-sulphide mineralisation could range between 1.5 to 3.4 per cent nickel.
Toro Executive Chairman Richard Homsany said this marks another “exceptional” drilling result for the company, with Dimma holding “significant” potential.
“The Dimma discovery is shaping up to be something of potential significance, with five
holes drilled and five intersections of massive and semi-massive Ni-sulphide so far intersected,” he said.
“The Dusty nickel-sulphide discoveries are the first massive nickel-sulphide discovered in this region of the Yilgarn and are in an area that, to our knowledge, had not been drilled to a fresh basement prior to Toro’s drilling.”
Toro is awaiting further analysis of diamond drilling at Dimma while the company continues to explore its Jumping Jack, Houli Dooley, and Dusty prospects.
While Toro Energy has tested only four kilometres of the 7.5-kilometre Dusty Komatiite magnetic trend to date, further logging and geochemical sampling are ongoing at Dimma.
