Anson Resources (ASN) has appointed Worley Group (WOR) to complete a front end engineering and design (FEED) study for its proposed lithium carbonate processing plant in Utah’s Paradox Basin.

ASN highlighted its FEED study as the next pivotal step in its plans to construct a processing plant to produce 13,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE).

The company’s team will collaborate and support Worley in delivering the FEED study, which will incorporate the direct lithium extraction process created by Sunresin New Materials into the design and engineering work.

Additionally, both teams will work in collaboration with Sunresin and its design and engineering consultants in the delivery of the FEED Study.

Worley is expected to provide the engineering for the supporting infrastructure and utilities for broader site development, while ASN acquires the equipment from suppliers required for its production plant.

Results from the study will be incorporated into Anson’s financial model to support project financing proposals to commercial banks, export credit agencies, and US government agencies.

Worley will use Anson’s previous definitive feasibility study (DFS), which was completed in 2022, as a guide for the FEED study, targeting a Q4 2023 completion date.

ASN shares were down 2.7 per cent, trading at 18 cents at 1:55 pm AEST.
