Iceni Gold (ICL) has unveiled high-grade gold assays from its Monument North target area in Western Australia.
The company announced that significant gold anomalism was discovered in a thick zone of shearing along the contact of the Monument granite, extending over a strike length of 500 metres.
New rock chip assays included peak gold values of 57.6 grams per tonne (g/t) and 41.6 g/t.
“The early success at Monument North is significant because it demonstrates high-grade gold mineralisation is associated with shearing along the granite contact, similar to nearby gold deposits,” ICL Technical Director David Nixon said.
Other significant results included 3.44 g/t gold, 2.44 g/t gold and 2.22 g/t gold.
Over a two-year period, 15,180 UFF+ soil samples have been taken across the entire tenement package using CSIRO-developed UFF+ soil sampling techniques.
ICL’s current fieldwork and rock sampling covered the new target on the granite-greenstone contact at Monument North.
The company has planned further fieldwork to continue rock chip sampling along the Monument granite contact to extend its new 500 metre-long strike zone.
ICL shares climbed 21.3 per cent to 9.1 cents at 1:27 pm AEST.
