Carnaby Resources (CNB) has revealed “exceptional” results from pXRF readings and drill assays at its Greater Duchess copper-gold project in Mount Isa, Queensland.
CNB focused on several targets within its Mount Hope Central prospect, which included its Boomerang, Binna Burra, and Chalcus targets.
Assays from the company’s Boomerang target revealed 2.1 per cent copper at eight metres, including 39 metres at 3.6 per cent copper and 0.5g/t gold.
The pXRF readings at Boomerang also displayed 2.6 per cent copper over 100 metres, with a true width of 34 metres.
Three new diamond drill hole wedges were completed, and intersected broad zones of copper-gold mineralisation, which targeted the down dip location of Carnaby’s high-grade Chalcus Lode discovery.
The company noted a “spectacular” intersection with recorded pXRF readings of 137 metres at 1.5 per cent copper, including 53 metres at 2.8 per cent copper, which is the deepest intersection yet on the Chalcus Lode.
CNB Managing Director Rob Watkins said Mount Hope continued to deliver, with drilling around the clock in store to extend the high-grade copper-gold discovery at Mount Hope Central and Mount Hope North.
“Exceptional broad and high-grade assay and pXRF intersections from the Boomerang and Chalcus Lodes clearly demonstrate strong continuity and remain completely open along strike and at depth,” he said.
“Mount Hope is rapidly evolving into a major high-grade copper-gold discovery
favourably located in Australia’s premier copper mining district.”
The company continues with infill drilling to extend its main Boomerang and Chalcus lodes which remain strongly open at depth and in all directions.
CNB shares were up 8.64 per cent, trading at $1.20 at 3:04 pm AEST.
