Golden State Mining (GSM) has commenced aircore (AC) drilling activities targeting lithium and gold prospects at its Yule project in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.

The project encompasses 8000 metres of AC drilling, covering the Nomad, Balla Yule, and Yule East prospects, and is scheduled to span four weeks.

The primary objective of this program is to test for interpreted deformed mafic-ultramafic layered intrusive mineralisation.

GSM also intends to investigate gold targets with similarities to Archaean gold deposits.

The company plans to further delineate volcanic-hosted massive sulphide (VHMS) pathfinders and coincident VTEM conductors across the tenement area.

“The first priority area is centred on the Nomad lithium prospect and will include ground to the southeast on E47/2692 where no previous exploration drilling has been conducted,” GSM Managing Director Michael Moore said.

“A further focus of the drilling program will be Yule East where we have a number of high-priority gold and lithium targets around the Yule River shear zone.”

The company anticipates initial assay results in mid-November.

GSM shares were up 6.25 per cent, trading at 3.4 cents at 11:03 am AEST.
