Viridis Mining and Minerals (ASX:VMM) has reinforced its executive team with the appointment of Rafael Moreno as CEO, effective from 15 January 2024.

This move comes as the company prepares for the next phase of growth, particularly in advancing its Colossus Ionic Adsorption Clay Rare Earth ‘IAC REE’ Project.

Mr. Moreno brings a wealth of experience to the role, boasting over 20 years in the mining and petrochemical industries across various continents.

His resume includes key roles in significant projects such as the Rincon Lithium Project, Santos’ Barossa Project (US$6bn), and INPEX’s Ichthys Project (~US$45bn).

Management comment

Mr. Moreno’s role will be crucial in steering the efficient development of the Colossus project following the completion of maiden resource drilling.

His expertise in project development and management, garnered from overseeing substantial projects globally, positions him as a valuable asset for Viridis.

Salary details

In terms of material details, Mr. Moreno’s remuneration includes a total salary package of $331,500 per annum, commencing January 15, 2024.

Additionally, performance incentives are outlined, tied to specific milestones such as achieving a $2.00 VWAP, delineating mineral resource estimates, and reaching a $4.00 VWAP over specific timeframes.
