Mantle Minerals (ASX:MTL) has completed an aircore (AC) drilling program at its Roberts Hill gold project in Western Australia.

The program commenced on October 27, and since 174 holes have been completed for 13,475 metres at an average hole depth of about 78 metres. All Assays are expected in late January 2024.

Mantle came to the understanding that overlying sediments were concealing any potential mineralisation up to 30 metres downhole, meaning the program tested an average of 48 metres of basement rock.

The company is looking for Hemi-style mineralisation similar to the renowned Hemi gold deposit. Reverse circulation (RC) drilling is being planned to drill below the basement rock, with follow-up intersections planned to also be AC drilled.

An air-core drilling program is currently being designed to commence in Q2 of 2024.

Meanwhile, the company had plans to publish a revised resource estimate for its Pardoo nickel project by the end of the calendar year, however, with prioritised resources at Roberts and drilling at Berghaus, the MRE has been pushed to Q1 of 2024.

MTL shares last traded at 0.3 cents.
