Polymetallic explorer Argent Minerals Ltd (ASX: ARD) has expanded the mineralised footprint over its Kempfield project in central New South Wales – which holds gold, silver, lead and zinc – with drilling results revealing two thick zones in different parts of the project.
Altogether, 12 holes were drilled across the project, intersecting shallow and high-grade zones of silver, lead and zinc up to 88 metres thick at the Western Lode area, in addition to a 29-metre-thick zone of high grade silver-base metal mineralisation northeast of the Lode 200 Resource Area.
Results from the latter included 29 metres at 34.09 grams per tonne of gold, 0.14 percent lead and 0.41 percent zinc (or 0.55 percent lead and zinc) from 50 metres, including 10 metres at 0.31 percent lead and 0.81 zinc (or 1.1 percent lead and zinc) from 64 metres.
Meanwhile, notable results from the drilling at Lode 200 Western Zone included 89 metres at 0.19 percent lead and 0.17 percent zinc (or 0.36 percent lead and zinc) from surface, and 6 metres at 21.97 grams per tonne of gold, 0.64 percent lead and 0.68 percent zinc (or 1.32 percent lead and zinc) from 81 metres.
Argent managing director Pedro Kastellorizos said the drilling results strengthened confidence in the Lode 200 part of Kempfield.
“The newly defined high-grade silver-base metal zones demonstrate a strong continuation of mineralised extensions along strike and at depth within the Lode 200 Mineralised Block,” he said.
“These zones of mineralisation have identified that the lateral and vertical depth of the overall mineralised lode system is trending in a north-east direction towards the 16.2-million-ounce silver equivalent Lode 300 Mineralised Block.
“The assay results further reinforce the significant upside potential of the Kempfield Project as we continue to expand the mineralised footprint.
“The drilling has confirmed further high grades over extensive intervals, but also new zones of higher-grade mineralisation outside of the JORC Resource area.”
Argent has been trading at 1.8c.
