Good afternoon, and welcome to the HotCopper HotList Top 10. Every week, hundreds of companies go through the ups and downs of the ASX trading rollercoaster, with fortunes made and equity lost each time the Aussie bourse opens – which is why keeping an eye on all the trending stocks is so key.
Listen to the HotCopper podcast for in-depth discussions and insights on all the biggest headlines from throughout the week. On Spotify, Apple, and more.
We’ve put together the HotCopper HotList: The top ten ASX-listed companies added to HotCopper users’ watchlists, so you can keep an eye on them too – and broken down why the top three companies made trending lists.
So, no more mucking around; here are the top picks from our forum users.
First up (and in absolutely no surprise for this HotCopper writer), Invictus Energy (ASX:IVZ) has been added to a few hundred watchlists. There’s plenty to this story, but the bottom line is the Zimbabwe-focused Aussie producer sold the Qatar Royal Family a 19.9% stake in the company for $38 million.
My editorial colleague Jonathon Davidson and I covered this in lengthy detail on the HotCopper Wire ep titled “Qatar royals bet on Invictus Energy.” If you want a more in-depth dive, you can give that one a listen.
To today, IVZ shares have popped +223% through Week 35.
Also high on the HotList has been Great Northern Minerals (ASX:GNM); while not quite Invictus levels, forum users liked the miner’s W35 news.
This one is simple too: Great Northern has been on radars for some time, but things really picked up Monday when the Oz explorer signed a deal to buy the Catalyst Ridge Project (and its 119 mineral claims) in the Mojave.
GNM has also been in the green for much of the trade week; it’s +7.1% today.
And Locksley Resources (ASX:LKY) rounds out the top three trending stocks on the HotCopper watchlists. The biggest driver was Locksley saying it had signed a “transformative partnership to fast track antimony processing.”
Now – that was a pretty vague release, but Locksley has already proven it can keep trucking through the simplest of things in 2025.
Plenty want a piece of the piece: LKY is +1,104 YTD.
The rest of the stocks in the HotList top ten in Week 35 were:
- West Coast Silver (ASX:WCE)
- Kaili Resources (ASX:KLR)
- Woolworths Group (ASX:WOW)
- Bayan Mining and Minerals (ASX:BMM)
- CSL Ltd (ASX:CSL)
- Techgen Metals (ASX:TG1)
- And, Gateway Mining (ASX:GML)
