i have a small painting co and same thing ,not the cheapest but i have never had a call back and have been recommended to other people by satisfied clients... i look at it this way the more you try to push the price down as a potential client, the more trouble you have as a trades person getting paid, getting referrals and satisfaction from this type of person is never met because they are to price focused and not quality focused...most times these potential clients want you to start right away and give you an unrealalistic time frame to finish....after i identify this type of client i become to "busy" to fit their job in.... the job in my mind is a two way street, client gets a quality job and i get paid fairly and end up with referrals and if i think this can not be achieved then i will not take on the job... it's a business plan that works for me....:)
